Extract personal information from new Vietnamese ID cards

In this seminar we presented a 3-step pipeline to extract personal information from the newest Vietnamese ID cards (12 digits with chips). We examine the use of object detection algorithms to extract personal information from Vietnamese new ID cards. By applying various deep learning models (object detection models and OCR models), we show that it is possible to accurately extract information such as the holder's name, address, and ID number. Our results demonstrate the effectiveness of object detection algorithms in providing fast and reliable personal information extraction from new ID cards, making it easier for governments, businesses, and individuals to process, store, and manage data. This research can provide valuable insights for other countries looking to improve their personal information management systems and enhance the security of their citizens' identities.
