Master of Science in Mathematics and Informatics
Every year, the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics admits students to the Master’s program with a research-oriented track.
1. Program Format and Duration
- Full-time study in a credit-based system
- Duration: 2 years
- Total credits: 60

3. Eligibility Requirements
a) Academic Background
Applicants must have graduated or be eligible for graduation from a relevant undergraduate program (or higher) as defined in the admission guidelines attached to the program. Specifically:
- Applicants who are regular undergraduate students at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) enrolled in the Integrated Bachelor–Master Program, and have completed their undergraduate studies with a classification of Good or higher;
- Applicants who graduated from an undergraduate program with a classification of Good or higher, or have relevant scientific publications (appearing as an author in at least one conference paper, workshop paper, or journal article),
b) Foreign Language Proficiency
Applicants must demonstrate a foreign language proficiency equivalent to Level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam. Specifically:
- Holding a bachelor’s degree or higher in a foreign language; or holding a bachelor’s degree or higher where the primary medium of instruction was a foreign language;
- Holding a valid foreign language certificate at B1 level or higher issued by an institution authorized by the Ministry of Education and Training (valid for 2 years from the date of issue);
- Holding another foreign language certificate equivalent to B1 or higher.
c) Additional Requirements
- Applicants with the same (relevant) undergraduate major are not required to take additional courses;
- Applicants with a closely related undergraduate major must take additional courses.

4. Admission Schedule (Expected for 2025)
- January 25 – November 30, 2025: Online application submission through the system
- February 21 – December 15, 2025: Admission Council meetings organized in several rounds
